I don’t speak French, it’s from a story about a town in Alaska; people would come out of their houses after the first snow of each year, hug each other and say ‘Bon hiver’, but hiver, reminded me of my liver, so I dropped the ‘h’.
I saw the Zeffirelli version [of Romeo and Juliet] when I was 13 and I cried my eyes out, because I couldn’t understand why, the morning after they shagged, they didn’t just run away. The song is written for two people who should run away before all the bad stuff starts.
